The institute aims to develop a younger generation of local and grassroots change-makers who undertake civic initiatives in their respective communities. We believe that young people are the key to sustaining long-term educational, social, economic and political development. In line with this belief, TKMI empowers caring and sharing and increases educational, political and spiritual growth among youth to take charge of social deeds. TKMI is unique in providing practical skills through leadership capacity building, civic education and enhancing the social, political, cultural and economic awareness of youth at the local and grassroots level.

TKMI’s 15-month Arts & Social Sciences College Program at our school in Taunggyi provide quality higher education and professional development opportunities to reduce the educational deficit and build a cohort of skilled individuals with the skills to help alleviate the immediate humanitarian crisis and build the foundation for longer-term development. Furthermore, TKMI also display Myanmar, and the world, to you in different ways which you have never imagined though our Social Sciences Studies discussions and excursions to various organizations. In addition, you are able to build a powerful network of friends and leaders across Myanmar and you learn from our outstanding local and international educators.
